iPad EPoS – there are no boundaries!
Today we released Kobas EPoS v3, featuring full stand-alone iPad support. It’s always been possible to use an iPad to add orders to tabs, request bill prints, log time and attendance and perform administrative tasks, but as of today it’s possible to run the entire front of house show from an iPad.
This is incredibly useful not only if you’re looking for a low cost alternative to a traditional touch screen EPoS station, but also if you want to enable roving service and payments. Here are some ideas:
Large queues at the bar, with no room to add more tills? Let your team tackle the queue from the sides for cash orders. Drink orders will be printed at work stations behind the bar, and money can be deposited in a waist pouch.
Settle tabs at the table – Armed with a roving PDQ and an iPad all bills can be settled at the customer’s table, preventing service queues at till stations, and permitting mixed cash and card payments to be calculated in real time on the iPad.
Wall mounted and charged iPads – iPads can be permanently wall mounted, where they take up a good deal less room and energy than a traditional till. Alternatively they can be mounted in a Launchport protective case which not only magnetically snaps onto the wall mount when not out roving, but also charges wirelessly all the time it’s on the mount.
