We’re fundraising for the future of hospitality. Follow along for regular updates on our progress. We are partnering with The Burnt Chef Project to raise funds for the incredible work they do for our industry, and to raise awareness of their services to our clients and their employees.

Throughout May, we will be walking, running, cycling and swimming the 1,521 kilometres it would take to visit all our staff’s home offices throughout the UK. Please join and support us on our adventure!

The Burnt Chef Project

Since launching in 2019 The Burnt Chef Project has provided the latest in mental health education to over 20,000 individuals and started 6,452 conversations with those who needed help.

They provide education, support, and resources, to tackle mental health stigma and work to ensure the hospitality and leisure industry is healthier and more sustainable by focussing on people’s wellbeing first.

Day Seven, first week done!

We’re thrilled to announce that after a fantastic bank holiday weekend, we’re already 40% through our virtual walk distance! Our dedicated team has been putting in the miles (or kilometers!), collectively trekking over 450 kilometres over the past few days.

Team Standouts:

  • Neil & Theo (CTO & Head of Production): These cycling superstars crushed a 4-hour, 164km ride from Brighton to Surrey, complete with well-deserved pub stops (gotta stay hydrated!). Their adventure included scenic old railway lines, platforms, tunnels, and even some mud patches!
  • Sam & Ruby: Our furry friends (and their humans!) explored the beautiful East Yorkshire hills on a dog walk.
  • Caelan: Conquered the stunning Monsal Trail in the Peak District, adding a respectable 17.8 km and topping the duration chart with a 4.30-hour walk.
  • Kristina: Smashed everyone’s record with a phenomenal 5-hour walk in Richmond!
  • Chelsea: Took a scenic walk around the Gruffalo village with her little one.

Bonus: We’re currently 271 kilometres ahead of schedule! Thanks to everyone’s incredible efforts.

How You Can Help:

  • Support our journey: Please consider donating to the Burnt Chef Project through our donation link. We’ll be sharing more about their amazing work for the hospitality industry in a future post.
  • Spread the word: Share our blog with your friends and family to help us raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause.

Stay tuned for more updates on our virtual walk adventure!

Day one, good progress!

We’ve set off from our furthest point near St Austell and travelled to the very edge of Cornwall. As of this morning, we’re hovering just shy of Saltash and the Tamar Bridge to enter Devon and visit our next point just over the border in Plymouth. We’ve smashed 33.05 miles on the first day, with 911.95 to go.

A big thank you for our donations so far 🥳 and well done to the team for their first day’s efforts!

Starting line, our virtual journey begins!

Our team of 16 is kicking off our 1,521 km virtual walk across the UK! We’re starting in the tippy-toe of England, near St Austell in Cornwall.

The route winds its way north up the west coast, taking us through Bristol, Stoke-on-Trent, and Sheffield before reaching Newcastle, then heading back southeast. We’ll stop in Hull, Milton Keynes, and weave our way through London. The final leg takes us southwest to Woking and then on to the beautiful seaside town of Brighton.

While the total distance is 945 miles, we’ll be conquering it together! Our team will walk, cycle, run, row, and even swim to reach our goal. Many of us will even be meeting up to tackle some sections together.

Stay tuned for updates on our progress and follow along on our virtual adventure!
