Meet some of the people behind Kobas with our team Q&As. Of course, not every team member wants to be featured on the website (plus there is a lot of us!), but you can rest assured they’re just as great.
What’s your role at Kobas?
Head of Operations | Data Protection Officer
When did you join the company?
September 2021
What does your day-to-day look like / what does your role involve?
As Head of Operations at Kobas, I lead our Client Success and Professional Services teams from the front — staying close to clients, working alongside the team, and making sure we’re delivering excellent service at every stage. Whether it’s onboarding, training, or supporting ongoing success, I’m hands-on in ensuring things run smoothly and add real value. A big part of the role is driving change projects that keep our platform evolving, helping us stay fresh, cost-effective, and genuinely useful for the businesses we support.
Alongside the day-to-day, I lead wider initiatives that shape how we work and what we offer. From streamlining internal processes to improving how we roll out new features, I focus on making things better for both our team and our clients. It’s all about keeping momentum, staying connected, and making sure everything we do helps hospitality teams get the most out of Kobas.
What did you do before working at Kobas?
My job before Kobas was as a General Manager for a Sheffield-based pub group called True North Brew Co, where I used Kobas. I also have and continue to work at festivals and events managing bars. In my previous life, I worked with families and young people.
What’s your favourite thing about working here?
I was drawn to Kobas because I genuinely believe the product to be industry-leading. I also enjoy the hospitality industry but needed a healthier work-life balance. In this role, I am able to make real differences to our clients and have my voice heard within Kobas, and my input valued. The working arrangements at Kobas are flexible which only leads to a significant increase in my productivity: I am happy; I work harder!
After work you can often be found…
Walking the dog (probably to the nearest restaurant or pub).
If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life, it would be…
If I could only eat one meal for the rest of my life, it’d be tapas, because choosing just one dish feels like a trap. Tapas lets you cheat the system. One meal? Sure. But make it 12 small plates. I’m talking chorizo in red wine, patatas bravas, manchego, crispy pork belly, and anything that comes sizzling in a tiny pan. It’s the perfect mix of big flavours, and lots of them! Plus, it feels like a social meal… even if I’d be eating it solo forever.
