Meet some of the people behind Kobas with our team Q&As. Of course, not every team member wants to be featured on the website (plus there is a lot of us!), but you can rest assured they’re just as great.
What’s your role at Kobas?
Lead QA Engineer (A.K.A QA Machine)
When did you join the company?
September 2020
What does your day-to-day look like / what does your role involve?
My responsibility involves anything surrounding the testing which occurs here at Kobas, ranging from implementing processes to ensure we’re constantly delivering products and software at a high quality, to carrying out the testing myself whether it be through manual means or through automation which is constantly being worked on & improved.
Along with the above, I’m constantly on the search to find defects in our products to notify relevant team members and fix before our products reach our clients.
What did you do before working at Kobas?
Prior to Kobas, I worked as a junior backend developer, which ended up transitioning into the QA Engineer role. The two aren’t that far apart, so the shared knowledge definitely has its benefits which I’ve made use of. I’ve always been in the tech space, but my earliest role(s) was as a waiter doing the occasional stadium jobs during match days.
What’s your favourite thing about working here?
Feeling comfortable enough to take naps during my lunch break. Though I guess the remote-working and flexible hours are cool too. All jokes aside, being able to suggest new ideas and seeing them being actioned makes the role that much more enjoyable as it shows I have a voice. Finally, it’s easy to communicate across the teams and it never feels restricted. Had to mention multiple things as I can’t limit it to just one.
After work you can often be found…
Creating beats, playing games, sleeping, at the gym, at church… it varies… A LOT.
If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life, it would be…
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts – I have a dangerous sweet tooth.
